1 killed, 2 hurt in head-on crash in Middletown Delaware

Delaware State Police say a man was killed and two people were hurt in a head-on collision in Middletown.It happened about10:30 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 301. Troopers say 27-year-old Brian Wyatt of Elkton, Md. was speeding and passing traffic by driving on the shoulder.

Police say Wyatt was in the southbound lane when his car crossed the double yellow line and hit a northbound car head-on.Troopers say Wyatt, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car, 26-year-old Jonathan Bateman, and his passenger, 64-year-old Nesta Bateman, both of Middletown, where taken to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
