Mont Alto, PA : One dead, one injured after vehicle crashes into Mont Alto home on Wednesday afternoon, July 20, 2016

The driver of a sport-utility vehicle died and a passenger was injured Wednesday afternoon after the vehicle crashed into a home in Mont Alto, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner identified the victim as Luis Angel DeLeon, 39, according to a state police news release issued Thursday. DeLeon's address was not listed in the release.

Police identified the passenger as Travis Allen Meyshock and reported he was flown from the scene. Police did not report his age, address, the extent of his injuries or where he was taken for treatment.

DeLeon and Meyshock were in a white Ford Explorer that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Pa. 233 on Wednesday at about 4:30 p.m. when it went through the intersection with Pa. 997, police said.

The SUV continued onto Park Street past the post office, went through a stop sign at the T intersection and crashed into the basement of a house at 6 Penn St., police said.

The residents were not home, the release said.
