Blue Hill, ME : Two people injured in crash on the Ellsworth Road on Sunday, August 28, 2016
Two people were taken to an area hospital following a single-vehicle crash shortly before noon Sunday on the Ellsworth Road.
Lewis Moores, 62, of Deer Isle was headed toward Blue Hill at about 11:46 a.m. when his 2002 Ford sedan left the road and struck a telephone pole and a tree, Maine State Police Trooper Owen Reed said.
Moores and his passenger, Cameron Ciomei, 23, of Stonington, were taken to Blue Hill Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Reed said. Their conditions were not available Sunday afternoon.
Moores was cited for a traffic infraction, Reed said.
Traffic on Ellsworth Road was diverted through an adjacent business for about an hour while the crash was cleared.
The Blue Hill Fire Department and Maine Warden Service also responded to the crash.
