NEW HAVEN, CT : Pedestrian killed, motorcyclist seriously hurt in New Haven crash at the intersection of Ferry and Lombard Streets on Thursday, 8th August 2019

Police are investigating an accident that left a pedestrian dead and a motorcyclist seriously injured in the Fair Haven section of the city Thursday night, officials said.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Ferry and Lombard Streets at 7:14 p.m. as a pedestrian was attempted to cross the street, Capt. Anthony Duff said.
The motorcyclist was on Ferry Street approaching the intersection as a pedestrian was attempting to cross, Duff said. The motorcyclist struck the pedestrian, leaving both with life-threatening injuries, Duff said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital, Duff said. The motorcyclist is in critical condition, reports said.
