HOWE, TX : Single-vehicle wreck sends Howe woman to hospital on Friday, 14th October 2016

A Howe woman was transported to the hospital after a single-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 75.

The wreck occurred at about 2:39 p.m. when the 56-year-old driver veered off the roadway to the right side and struck a barrier underneath the FM 902 overpass. The silver Dodge car continued on and drove on the side of hill. At one point, the car lost its front right tire before coming to a stop in the right lane of the highway several yards away.

Howe Police Chief Carl Hudman said the woman was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. No other vehicles were involved. The left southbound lane remained open while crews cleared the scene. Hudman said police were unsure what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
