LEHIGH ACRES, FL : Child seriously injured in Lehigh Acres motorbike crash on Monday, 1st March 2021

A 13-year-old riding a mini dirt bike died in a crash Monday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The Lehigh Acres teen was driving the bike north on Gordon Avenue S when he crashed into a pickup truck at the intersection of 7th Street SW around 9 a.m.

Troopers said the teen violated the right of way of the pickup truck driven by a 47-year-old Lehigh Acres man with a 3-year-old passenger in tow.

The 13-year-old was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with critical injuries and later died on Monday night.
