Victoria, TX : A one-vehicle wreck on U.S. 87 on May, Friday, 19th 2017

An Edna man was taken to a Victoria hospital Friday after a one-vehicle wreck on U.S. 87.

A 2012 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic, driven by Cary Smith, 43, was northbound on the highway at 5:37 p.m., said Trooper Ryan Etzler, of the Department of Public Safety.

Smith experienced mechanical issues that caused him to lose control and skid into a ditch on the southbound side of the highway, Etzler said.

Smith was taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro, and a spokeswoman said he was in fair condition but in the intensive care unit.
