An alleged drunk driver crashed a 1939 Pontiac into a tree on Briggs Road in Rowan County on Saturday night.
According to the Highway Patrol, Cathy Wilhelm was driving the car and was intoxicated. The car ran off the road, then the driver over-corrected, crossing the center line and hitting a tree.
Wilhelm is charged with driving while impaired.
Jan Young is the owner of the car was was a passenger. He was airlifted to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
