NORWALK TWP, CT : Five-vehicle crash injures four on U.S. 250 on Tuesday, 29th January 2019

A five-vehicle crash Tuesday injured four people, one of whom was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, after one of the drivers traveled left of center on U.S. 250. Nine people, including two children, were involved in the accident, which took place at 6:39 a.m. The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.

Douglas Sprowles, 54, of Norwalk, was driving a 2014 Chrysler 200 southbound on U.S. 250. Roberta Capelle, 42, Jason Fields, 48, and Eduardo Munoz-Lopez, 39, all of Norwalk, were all northbound on the same road.

Sprowles was near mile post 1 in Norwalk Township when he traveled left of center and hit Capelle’s 2017 Chevrolet Cruze and Field’s 2013 Ford E-250 on the driver’s sides, said troopers with the state Highway Patrol. After the initial collision, Sprowles continued south and struck the left front of Munoz-Lopez’s vehicle before coming to a final rest.

A fifth vehicle, a 2008 Dodge Caliber, driven northbound by Jordon Coy, 35, of Norwalk, was hit in the windshield by flying debris resulting from the initial collisions.
