Centerville, UT : Man critically injured in Legacy Parkway crash near Centerville on Thursday, July 21, 2016

A man was hospitalized in critical condition Thursday after crashing his car on Legacy Parkway.

The 22-year-old man, whose name was not released Thursday, was traveling north in a Honda Accord around 6 p.m. when he drifted into the median and then over-corrected the vehicle to the right, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

The vehicle struck a camera pole and an electric box on the shoulder, the UHP reported. The man was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in critical condition.

The crash occurred a short distance south of Centerville. Police were still investigating Thursday why the car initially drifted to the left.
