Portland, OR : Drunk driver arrested after road rage, wrong-way two-car crash on Saturday, November 1, 2014
A road rage incident on Saturday ended in a wrong-way two-car crash where a man driving 100 MPH who caused the accident was arrested.
Andrey Ivanavich Demchenko, 28, was driving on SE Foster Rd. under Interstate 205. An officer from Portland Police tried to pull over a silver Kia, but Demchenko refused to stop around 11:30 p.m.
Demchenko sped away on Foster Rd., over the next couple of minutes other police saw the same vehicle speeding. On Stark St. and 102 Ave. a sergeant saw the vehicle approaching him the wrong way on Stark St.
The driver was traveling too fast, estimated at over 100 MPH, the sergeant avoided the car, but Demchenko hit two other cars and came to a stop at 105th Ave.
Demchenko fled on foot, but was arrested a short time later. He was taken to a Portland hospital for his injuries. Demchenko was booked into Multnomah County Jail on Nov. 3 on 14 charges including DUII and Attempt to Elude by Vehicle.
No one else was hurt in the accident.
