One person was killed in a crash that shut down part of the John Belk Freeway for a time early Wednesday morning.
Detectives say the wreck happened around 2 a.m. when the vehicle hit the base of the 7th Street bridge where it crosses over Interstate 277.
The crash closed several lanes of the John Belk Freeway Outer Loop, from 77 towards Independence. All lanes were back open by 5:30 a.m.
No names or possible contributing factors have been released.
