Polk, FL : Woman killed in U.S. 98 head-on crash in Polk on Sunday, 22nd December, 2019

An early morning chain reaction crash on U.S. 98 that resulted in a head-on collision between two vehicles claimed the life of a Central Florida woman Sunday.
According to a news release from Florida Highway Patrol, a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Alexander Jeremy Roberts, 28, of Valrico, was traveling north on U.S. 98 at 1:15 a.m., near the Lakeland Acres Road junction, when he failed to observe slowing traffic and crashed into the rear of a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Charles Lamar Rice, 38, of Lakeland.
