Athens, TX : A 56-year-old woman was killed in a wreck on Monday, 25th June 2018

A 56-year-old woman was killed in a wreck on Monday night as she was exiting a private drive onto FM 804 near New York, Texas Department of Public Safety reports show.

She was identified as Teressa Boyd Splawn of Larue.

“Preliminary crash investigation indicates that ... about 7:20 p.m., Splawn was driving a 2018 Kia Soul as she pulled out of the driveway onto FM 804. At the same time, the driver of a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500, identified as William N. Reynolds, 19, of LaRue, was traveling eastbound on the same road.”

According to a DPS spokesperson, Splawn failed to yield the right of way, entered the road and was hit on the left side. She was pronounced at the scene.
