Monessen, PA : Route 28 north accident cleared near Highland Park Bridge on Tuesday, November, 7th 2017
Drivers on Route 28 northbound dealt with traffic backups for about two hours Tuesday during rush hour because of a crash.
State police Trooper Joshua Osche said three vehicles were involved in the rear-end crash that happened just after 5 p.m. near the Highland Park Bridge exit.
"On my way down, a lot of the ramps were backed up onto (Route) 28," he said.
The accident left one lane closed for about two hours.
Police were on the scene until around 7:30 p.m. Osche said traffic was flowing by 7:45 p.m.
Osche said there were no injuries, but one driver would be cited for following too closely.
PennDOT sent out an advisory on Twitter warning drivers of a lane restriction in the area because of the multi-vehicle crash.
