Heber City, UT : One person dead, two critically injured after a car crash on State Road 248 in Wasatch County on Tuesday, Nov 17, 2015

A woman died Tuesday in a car crash in Wasatch County after the driver of the car in which she was riding swerved to miss a deer and lost control.

Brenda Wardle, a 54-year-old from Marion, was killed in the crash, which happened at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday on State Road 248, according to Utah Highway Patrol authorities.

The female driver of a Ford Mustang was heading east when she swerved to miss a deer, lost control, and entered the westbound lanes, where a westbound Pontiac Grand Prix hit the Mustang in the passenger door, killing Wardle, according to UHP.

The drivers of both cars were transported to Park City Medical Center in critical condition. UHP authorities said deputies found drugs in the Mustang after the crash, and are now investigating whether that played a role.
