Jamestown, ND : Jamestown woman injured in crash on Wednesday, February 15th 2017
An 18-year-old Jamestown woman was injured in a crash Wednesday after the vehicle she was driving struck a tree on the southbound entrance ramp to Interstate 29, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The woman was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Impala southbound on the I-29 southbound entrance ramp coming from the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 at about 2:20 p.m. The patrol said the vehicle drove off the left edge of the roadway, and the driver steered right but overcorrected, causing the vehicle to rotate to the right. The vehicle slid sideways into the west ditch before striking a tree with the driver’s side door.
The woman was unconscious and her legs were pinned inside the vehicle, the patrol said. The Fargo Fire Department extricated the woman from the vehicle, and F-M Ambulance transported her to Essentia Health in Fargo to be treated for her injuries.
The woman was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
