Albany, OR : Two vehicle crash on Highway 34 near Tidewater in Lincoln County on Saturday, 2nd June 2018

A Waldport woman was killed Saturday morning in a head-on, two-vehicle crash on Highway 34 near Tidewater in Lincoln County.

The wreck happened shortly before 6 a.m.

According to the Oregon State Police, 20-year-old Lillian Fawcett was driving west on the highway in a silver 2002 Toyota Prius, then entered the oncoming lane for reasons unknown and struck a white 2016 Ford F650 tow truck, driven by Michael Miller, 49, of Newport.

The Prius came to rest on the westbound shoulder against an embankment. The tow struck stopped in the center of the highway, facing east.

Fawcett died at the scene as a result of her injuries. Miller was not hurt and is cooperating with the investigation.
