Everett, WA : Three teens run after chase, crash in Snohomish County on Friday, February 20, 2015

3 teens are on the run after a high-speed chase along I-5 in Snohomish County that ended at an apartment complex in Everett.

5 teens were in the car, which had been stolen from Mountlake Terrace, when the chase began at around 7 P.M. Friday, Washington State Patrol troopers said. A trooper tried to pull the driver over for speeding, but he took off.

Michelle Fitting and her fiance were standing in their living room when they just happened to look out the window in their third-story apartment and saw the car fly down the road that leads into their complex, she said.

"It was like a movie. Just launched over the curb, sparks flying, and hit that," Fitting said. "It's a ramp and when you hit it from that high speed, you just hit it and just fly."

The driver slammed into 2 parked cars and narrowly missed the apartment complex's office, which is still damaged from a previous crash about 2 months ago, Fitting said.

"They put the rocks there so you won't hit the building, but people just kinda go right over them," Fitting said.

Troopers said the chase reached speeds of up to 90 miles per hour at one point. All 5 teens in the car bolted after the crash, troopers said.

Jason Passe said he was getting ready to go pick up his wife from a store up the street when he saw officers arrest one of the teens near his stairwell.

"I was actually on the phone with her and was like 'Holy cow, they arrested him outside our front door. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to come down and get you,'" said Passe.

Troopers said they found alcohol inside the car and think some of the teens had been drinking.

Fitting said she's thankful no one was seriously hurt. Knowing the area's history, she thinks something has to change, she added.

"People just don't realize that this is not road anymore and they just keep driving for some reason," Fitting said.

Two 15-year-olds were arrested after the crash, troopers said. The girl and 2 boys who are still on the run are all described as hispanic, they added. One of them was the driver.
