TAYLORSVILLE, UT : Teen driver faces several charges after fatal Taylorsville auto-pedestrian crash on Sunday, 31st December 2023

A person was killed early Sunday morning in Taylorsville after being struck by an SUV driven by a teen who now faces multiple charges.

19-year-old Aron Jimenez Contreras was arrested on suspicion of several offenses, including negligently operating a vehicle resulting in death, driving under the influence, speeding, accident involving property damage, reckless driving, and careless driving.

According to arrest documents, the incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of 4940 South and 4015 West.
