Three juvenile pedestrians suffered minor injuries after they reportedly entered an intersection and a vehicle coming from a stop sign hit them Thursday afternoon in Niles.
The incident happened around 2:56 p.m. near the intersection of Sycamore Street and North 13th Street, according to a release from the Niles Police Department.
Four children reportedly were walking westbound on the sidewalk on Sycamore. The vehicle was headed north on 13th.
Police say, after the vehicle came to a stop at the stop sign and started to enter the intersection, the juveniles stepped off the curb and into the road. Three of the four pedestrians were hit by the car.
The three hit by the car were taken to the hospital for treatment of what police called minor injuries.
Alcohol and drugs are not likely factors in the incident, police said. The Niles Police Department continues to investigate.
