Ellensburg, WA : Yakima woman hurt in single-vehicle crash on I82 on Monday evening, December 26, 2016

A Yakima woman was injured Monday evening when her Jeep Cherokee struck a guardrail on Interstate 82 south of Ellensburg, the Washington State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 5:41 p.m. about 6 miles south of Ellensburg when Lucia Aguilar, 23, of Union Gap, lost control of the Cherokee and hit the guardrail, according to a news release from the patrol.

A passenger, Regina Deleon, 29, taken to KVH Hospital in Ellensburg, where she was treated and released, the patrol said.

Troopers said Aguilar was issued a citation for driving too fast for the conditions.

Both women were wearing seat belts and intoxicants were not a factor in the crash.

They said everyone involved was wearing seatbelts, and intoxicants are not a factor in the crash.
