Four people died and one person was injured in a fiery two-car crash on U.S. 411 on the Loudon County side of Greenback Saturday evening, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper.

Darryl K. Brewer, 34, of Maryville; Winnie L. Burris, 39, of Old Fort; Destiny Vires, 13, of Benton; and Riley Burris, 13, of Old Fort, all died in the crash, THP reports said. Mitchell E. According to the report, Brewer was driving north on the 7000 block of U.S. 411 around 7 p.m. when his GMC van veered into the oncoming lane of traffic, colliding head-on with a southbound Nissan Altima driven by Armour.

The Altima, which included passengers Vires, Winnie Burris and Riley Burris, spun out of control before coming to a halt in the southbound lane of U.S. 411.

Brewer was ejected from the van as the vehicle flew off the side of the highway, careened into a field and caught fire as it came to a halt.

The THP report said that drugs and alcohol were not suspected in the crash. All of the victims except for Brewer were wearing seat belts.
