Clarksdale,MS : Several people injured in Claiborne County crash on April, Monday 2nd 2018

Claiborne County Sheriff Frank Davis says there is a bad crash on Highway 61, south of Port Gibson. Davis says his office got the call around 10:45 p.m.

MHP spokesman Eric Henry says. they responded around the same time to a two-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation shows that a Lexus traveling north on U.S. 61 crossed the center line and struck a Honda Accord traveling south head-on.

The driver of the Lexus was airlifted to UMMC in critical condition and a rear passenger in the Lexus was taken to a local hospital in Port Gibson. The driver of the Honda Accord suffered minor injuries but was not transported.

The accident is under investigation
