A New Lenox man died Thursday after a car crash in rural Grundy County.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Grundy County Coroner’s Office and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, Matthew Duque, 40, was traveling on Marseilles Road just east of Nettle Creek Road when for unknown reasons, he lost control of his vehicle. It then rolled several times and he was ejected out of the vehicle.
Duque was the only occupant in the vehicle and was taken to Morris Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room shortly before 3 p.m., a news release from the Grundy County Coroner's Office stated.
An examination is scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday and the crash remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the sheriff’s department.
