Kearns, UT : Teenage motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash in Utah on Sunday, Nov 22, 2015

Police say a teenage motorcyclist has died in a hit-and-run in Utah.

Witnesses told police that the 19-year-old motorcyclist was hit by a Jeep when leaving a gas
station in Kearns Sunday. Police say the driver fled the crash and the Jeep was found
abandoned two hours later.

Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell says witnesses told police that motorcyclist Edgar Osvaldo
Frayre-Rodriguez made a wide turn into oncoming traffic. Bell says Rodriguez's friends told
police that the teen had just purchased the motorcycle on Saturday.

Police say the Jeep's license plate was cancelled, which could mean the previous owner
recently sold it to another person.

Bell says detectives saw a lot of personal property in the Jeep and were waiting for a search
warrant Sunday afternoon.
