Springfield, OH : Dayton police motorcyclist struck while escorting charity bike run in Springfield on Saturday, July 15, 2017
A Dayton police officer is in stable condition tonight at Miami Valley Hospital after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car in Springfield.
The officer, who was not identified, was an escort for traffic control for a charity motorcycle ride when he was hit, Springfield Police Division Sgt. Jeff Williams said.
The Dayton officer was traveling on Columbus Street sometime before 4 p.m. when the car pulled out of Wheel Street, Williams said.
No citations have been issued, and the crash remains under investigation by Springfield police.
