Christiana, DE : Three injured when car crashes into ambulance on State Highways 237 and 7 in New Castle County early Tuesday afternoon, March 29, 2016

Three people were transported to the hospital after a car collided with a Christiana Fire Company ambulance early Tuesday afternoon in Christiana, state police said.

The crash was reported at about 1:45 p.m. at Del. 273 and Del. 7, Master Cpl. Jeffrey R. Hale said.

Christiana Fire Chief Rich Perillo said preliminary investigation shows the ambulance was responding to an emergency when it collided with another vehicle.

Three crew members inside the ambulance were transported to Christiana Hospital with minor injuries, Perillo said. They were treated and released from the hospital. The operator of the car was not injured, Perillo said.
