An 18-year-old Junction City woman was killed and two people were injured in a one-vehicle rollover traffic accident Saturday afternoon in Manhattan, said Capt. Tim Hegarty of the Riley County Police Department.
He said Cheyanne Olivia Higgins was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 3200 block of Stagg Hill Road. Names of the injured people weren’t being released.
Riley County police were called about 3:30 p.m. to the accident scene, Hegarty said. He said the driver was listed in stable condition Sunday at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. A male passenger was taken to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka, where information about his condition wasn’t available, Hegarty said. No other people were in the vehicle.
Riley County police were investigating the cause of the accident and didn’t think any other people were involved, Hegarty said. Preliminary investigation indicated all three occupants were wearing seat belts, he said.
