Gabrielle Gonzales, the woman who died in a car crash at Platte Avenue and North Chelton Road Monday morning, was full of life and touched the lives of family and friends alike, her sister-in law Bernadette Gonzales said.
Gonzales, 27, was identified by the El Paso county coroner's office as the lone death in a crash that occurred just before 2 a.m. Monday. Gonzales and another person were ejected from their Oldsmobile Cutlass after running a red light and colliding with a blue Ford truck, officers said.
The driver of the truck was trapped and was rescued by the Colorado Springs Fire Department. All three were taken by ambulance to local hospitals. Gonzales succumbed to her injuries.
