Riverside, CA : Covina man killed in crash that shut down 91 Freeway in Riverside early Sunday, June 26, 2016
The motorist killed in a fiery crash that closed down the eastbound 91 early Sunday, June 26, has been identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
Alexander Ward, 28 of Covina, was found dead at the scene of a crash on the freeway just east of Buchanan Avenue about 3 a.m. Sunday.
The crash appeared to have involved two vehicles and two motorcycles, one of which was on fire when firefighters arrived, according to a news release from the Riverside Fire Department.
The other motorcyclist, a 33-year-old man, had major injuries from the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, the release said. The two people inside vehicles had minor injuries and weren’t hospitalized.
The accident’s cause is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
