Claridon,OH : Two Perry women killed in afternoon Geauga County crash on may, Wednesday 24th 2017
Two women from Perry were killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash in Geauga County, officials said.
Myka Gray, 18, and her passenger Kayleigh O'Brien, 19, were pronounced dead at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, the Chardon post of the State Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Gray was driving south on Aquilla Road at about 4:30 p.m. in a 2008 Chevy Cobalt, the patrol said. The Cobalt did not stop at the stop sign at Ohio 322.
A 35-year-old Chardon woman was driving a 2012 GMC Acadia SUV west on Ohio 322 and slammed into Gray's driver's-side door, the patrol said. The Chardon woman and her 6-year-old son were taken to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center for treatment for minor injuries.
Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt, the release says, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors. Investigators will continue to probe the crash's cause.
