Martinsville, IN : Owen County man dies in one-vehicle crash on Friday, 12th August, 2016

Investigators are trying to determine what caused a log truck to run off Letterman Road and crash, killing the driver. Anthony Brackett, 51, was declared dead at the scene by the Morgan County Coroner's Office. According to reports at the scene, around 10 a.m. Friday, Brackett was driving a loaded log truck down the big hill on Letterman Road when for unknown reasons, the truck went off the road, hit a drainage ditch and overturned. The crash occurred in the 500 block of Letterman Road. Brackett died of injuries suffered in the crash. It had been raining before the crash and authorities are not sure if the wet road contributed to the crash. Responding to the crash were the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police, Paragon Police Department, Martinsville Fire Department, Adams and Ashland Township Fire Department, Paragon Fire Company and Care Ambulance.
