Joplin, MO : Two Joplin residents injured in accident on Highway 66 in Jasper County on Monday, May 9, 2016

Two Joplin residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:15 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 66, 3 miles west of Joplin in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The driver, Rouzanna L. Sanders, 31, and her passenger, James E. Smith, 33, were taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin.

Their eastbound car ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.

• A Stark City woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday on Missouri Highway 86, a mile west of Newtonia in Newton County, the state patrol said.

Anna M. O'Brien, 53, was taken to Freeman Neosho Hospital.

She was driving an eastbound car that crossed the centerline, skidded into a guardrail, hit a sign and overturned, the patrol said.
