A driver lost control of the car changing lanes on Interstate 4 between a box truck and a semi tractor trailer, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. Multiple lanes were closed on the interstate Tuesday morning after that crash.
According to FHP, Guillermo Espinosa, 23, was driving his 96 Honda going east on I-4 by the 22nd Street when he changed lanes between the truck and the trailer and lost control of the car. The Honda hit the box truck's saddle tank, rotated and was hit by the semi, according to FHP.
The drivers of the larger vehicles were not harmed, Espinosa had minor injuries reported. The crash caused a small fuel spill from the tank and closed the interstate lane in the morning.
According to the FHP report, Espinosa was cited for careless driving.
The I-4 lanes were back open by 7:30 a.m.
