Little Rock, AR : 3 die in wrecks at week's start on Sunday, December 11th 2016
Three people died in accidents on Arkansas roads since Sunday.
A Greenbrier woman was thrown from her car during a three-vehicle wreck north of Conway and died Tuesday morning, Arkansas State Police police said.
Carolyn Finley, 50, was driving a 2000 Toyota Echo south on U.S. 65 in Faulkner County around 6:10 a.m. when she collided head-on with a northbound 2013 Dodge Dart that had crossed into the southbound lanes, the state police said in a report.
Finley's car spun 180 degrees and was then hit by a southbound 2012 Ford Explorer. State police said the Echo veered off the west side of the road backward, and Finley was thrown from the car.
Lewis Barker, 26, of Greenbrier was driving the Dart and was injured in the crash. He was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
State police listed conditions as clear and dry when the wreck occurred.
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Interstate 30 in Little Rock early Tuesday, authorities said.
Antonious Williams, 40, of Little Rock was trying to cross the interstate near Scott Hamilton Drive shortly after midnight when he was hit by a 2001 Chevrolet that was traveling east, according to a state police report.
No one else was reported injured, and conditions were rainy and wet at the time.
A 19-year-old driver was killed when his car veered off I-30 in central Arkansas and struck a tree Sunday morning, authorities said.
Williams Gregory Eakins of Nevada, Texas, was driving a 2015 Mazda 3 east on the interstate near Benton in Saline County around 10:30 a.m., according to a state police report. The car traveled off the roadway, then spun and struck a large tree on the driver's side, police said. The Texas town of Nevada is about 36 miles northeast of Dallas.
