Novato,CA : Novato motorcyclist dies in collision near West Sac on October, Sunday 29th 2017

A 65-year-old man from Novato died at around 6 p.m. Sunday in a freeway crash near West Sacramento.

The victim, whose name has yet to be released by the Yolo County Coroner’s Office, was riding his Yamaha motorcycle west on U.S. 50 east of Harbor Boulevard, when approaching stopped traffic. “For an unknown reason the driver of the Yamaha was unable to slow or stop prior to colliding with the rear of a black Ford SUV in the No. 2 lane,” the CHP reported. “As a result of this collision, the driver of the Yamaha was ejected from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist died at the scene.

It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision, which remains under investigation.
