Cullman, AL :Birmingham man dies in wreck; injury reported in earlier accident on on Wednesday, November 23rd 2016
A Birmingham man died in an early Wednesday morning accident along Interstate 65 in Cullman County.
Christopher Walker, 33, died in the accident involving two 18-wheelers around 4:14 a.m., according to Alabama State Troopers.
The southbound lanes starting at the 294 mile marker near Hanceville were blocked for hours as emergency responders struggled to clear the scene and attend to the fatality.
The driver of the second vehicle, Elbert Beddington, 42, of Linville, Tennessee, was not injured. Both drivers were wearing safety belts, according to the Trooper report.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the traffic death and didn't have other details to report.
Another accident occurred just an hour before the fatality at the 293 mile marker on Interstate 65. Troopers said Isaiah Bates, 21, of Leighton. He was wearing a seatbelt but no other details were available.
