Buffalo, IA :Pedestrian airlifted after early morning accident on Monday, July 13th 2015
Scott County authorities have released more information about a pedestrian accident in Buffalo, Iowa this week. The investigation has revealed that the 53-year-old Davenport woman was in the westbound lane near the center line of Highway 22 when the driver of a black Chevy pick-up tried to avoid hitting her by swerving to the shoulder. Authorities say the pick-up made contact with the woman on the driver’s side headlight and fender, along with the driver’s side mirror. The truck then spun around before coming to a stop. The 45-year-old driver from Bettendorf returned to the area of accident and called 9-1-1. At this time no charges or citations have been filed. Part of Highway 22 was closed after a morning accident involving a pedestrian.The accident happened on Highway 22 just west of Buffalo around 4:45 Monday morning July 13, 2015. The Muscatine County Sheriffs office says that a passerby called 9-1-1 and the driver of the car that hit the victim was still on scene.Sheriff’s officials say the victim was airlifted from the scene. They say it’s normal practice to bring in Medforce in an emergency situation like this or in more rural areas where it may take more time for an ambulance to arrive.Officials planned to have the road closed for a while Monday morning to recreate the scene. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
