Sarasota, FL : Lakeland man died in motorcycle crash on I-75 in Manatee County on Friday morning, May 27, 2016

A Lakeland man died Friday morning in an accident on Moccasin Wallow Road east of Interstate 75.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol:

At about 9 a.m., Donald Love, 72, of Palmetto was stopped at the stop sign on the northbound Interstate 75 exit ramp in his 2009 Toyota Prius.

While attempting to turn left onto Moccasin Wallow Road, Love pulled in front of a 2002 Honda motorcycle ridden by Dan Berner, 59, of Lakeland. The motorcycle collided with the left side of the Prius and overturned.

Berner, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Love sustained minor injuries.

Love was charged with failing to yield the right of way from a stop sign.
