Jacksonville, TX : Rusk ISD students involved in bus wreck on Thursday, 20th October 2016
Local students who were involved in an accident Thursday morning outside Reklaw during a morning bus route have been sent to Jacksonville hospitals as a precautionary measure, said a Rusk school official.
“Everything is under control,” Lesa Jones, RISD assistant superintendent of finance and operation, said of a one-vehicle accident involving a Rusk ISD bus. “Everyone was able to walk and move about, and the bus was able to be driven back to our bus barn.
“Our first concern as a district, though, is the physical and emotional needs of the kids and their parents,” she said, adding that Dr. Scott Davis, schools superintendent, was with students and their families Thursday morning the hospital.
The wreck is being investigated by the Rusk County DPS office, which oversees the area where the incident occurred.
