Meredith, N.H : Driver on way to job interview involved in crash on I-93 northbound in Meredith on Friday morning, September 19, 2014
Police said a driver on her way to a job interview was pulled over 25 minutes before crashing her car on Interstate 93 northbound in Meredith on Friday morning.
Nancy O’Brien, 53, was found trapped in her vehicle after the crash around 9:10 a.m. Police said her car struck a guard rail before colliding with a tree in the median of the highway.
Police said a window had to be broken to free O’Brien, who was later taken to the hospital for evaluation of her injuries.
O’Brien was initially pulled over 25 minutes before the collision. Police said she was driving 92 mph in a 70-mph zone on I-93 northbound in Canterbury and cited her for speeding. O’Brien told police she was on her way to a job interview.
O’Brien’s car was then seen traveling erratically before the crash. One witness told police that O’Brien was handling or reading an electronic device or piece of paper against the steering wheel.
Police also charged O’Brien with negligent driving. She faces up to a $500 fine and a 30-day loss of her driver’s license for that charge.
