Garden City, KS : Two injured in Gray County crash on Saturday morning, February 18, 2017

An 42-year-old Oklahoma woman and a 52-year-old Larned man were injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 56 and Kansas Highway 23 about nine miles south of Cimarron in Gray County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Darrell L. Powers, 33, Meade, was northbound on K-23 in a 2010 Kia SUV at about 9:19 a.m., when he failed to yield and collided with a 1998 Chevrolet pickup driven by Harry H. Timberman of Larned, which was westbound on U.S. 56.

Power wasn’t injured, but passenger Jamie L. King of Sterling, Okla., was injured and taken to Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. Timberman also was injured and taken to Western Plains. Information on King and Timberman’s conditions was not available Sunday night.

Two other passengers in Powers’ vehicle, 2-year-old Vivian Powers of Meade and 10-year-old Williams Powers of Meade, were not injured.

All five people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
