Winter Park, FL : Woman killed in fatal crash in Econlockhatchee on Friday December 18 2015
The Winter Park woman killed in a crash on Econlockhatchee Trail Friday night has been identified, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Deborah Burden, 68, was turning left from Sundance Court on to Econlockhatchee Trail around 5 p.m. when she pulled out in front of a Toyota pickup truck, troopers said.
The truck's driver, Alan Tomlinson, 47, hit the side of her Toyota van, FHP spokeswoman Kim Montes said.
Burden's injuries kept her from being able to hit the brakes. Her van continued traveling for about a quarter of a mile down the road, Montes said.
At first troopers thought the crash was a hit-and-run because they didn't immediately see the van.
Burden was taken to Florida Hospital East Orlando, where she was pronounced dead.
Tomlinson, of Orlando, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. His son, who was also in the car, had minor injuries.
