Albany, NY : One dead in Schoharie County crash on September, Friday 1st 2017
The driver of an SUV who crashed into a truck hauling a flatbed trailer was killed Friday afternoon in the Schoharie County town of Wright, according to Sheriff Anthony Desmond.
The crash occurred sometime before 4:40 p.m on Route 443.
The truck with two occupants was eastbound when the westbound SUV crossed into its path on a curve and struck the truck head-on, Desmond said.
The occupants of both vehicles were removed using the Jaws of Life hydraulic device. The truck's occupants were taken to Ellis Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but the driver and sole occupant of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene by County Coroner Donna McGovern. The body was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital for an autopsy.
Desmond was not releasing the victims' names pending the notification of family.
