Decatur, AL : Man charged in Wisconsin crash that killed 3 Uber passengers on Thursday, 27th October 2016

A man accused of running a red light and slamming his SUV into a car, killing three passengers and injuring their Uber driver, has been charged with a dozen felonies including reckless homicide.

A criminal complaint alleges 23-year-old Jasen Randhawa was driving about 30 mph over the speed limit at the time of the crash early Sunday. Three friends who worked at a Chicago ad agency were killed — 32-year-old Amy Taylor, 30-year-old Ashley Sawatzke and 35-year-old Lindsey Cohen.

According to the complaint, Randhawa fled on foot from the scene. He allegedly called a friend to tell him he had been in an accident and was drunk.

Randhawa turned himself in to police the following day. His defense attorney didn't immediately return a call for comment.
