Morris, IL : One person died, two in critical condition in Motorcycle crash on Old Stage Road near Morris on Saturday evening, July 9, 2016

One person died Saturday evening and two others were in critical condition after a three-motorcycle crash near Morris.

The incident occurred about 6:45 p.m. in the 5000 block of Old Stage Road, according to Morris Fire Protection & Ambulance District Chief Tracey Steffes.

The motorcycles were traveling west, when one driver lost control, causing the other two motorcyclists to lose control as well, a news release from the Grundy County Coroner's Office stated.

The deceased, an Aurora man, was pronounced dead at 7:56 p.m. at the scene, according to the news release. His name is being withheld pending notification of family. A coroner's exam is scheduled for Sunday morning.

One of the injured drivers was flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Steffes said, while the other was taken to Morris Hospital.

According to Grundy County Sheriff's Office Deputy Chief Ken White, the three drivers were the only people involved in the crash, which White said occurred as the motorcyclists crossed a bridge in the area.

The Grundy County coroner's and sheriff's offices are investigating the incident.

The scene of the fatality is near the site of another recent deadly crash.
