BYRON, CA : Motorcyclist hospitalized after injury crash near Byron on April, Thursday 13th 2017
A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Thursday when a crash sent the bike off the road and into a barbed-wire fence, the California Highway Patrol said.
At 4:08 p.m., seven East Contra Costa Fire District firefighters responded to Camino Diablo a quarter-mile east of Vasco Road for a report of a collision.
CHP officers and paramedics also responded, and found a solo motorcyclist off the roadway and lying in a field. Paramedics began treating the rider, who suffered head and neck trauma, and summoned the CHP’s REACH3 life-flight helicopter, which landed nearby in the 2800 block of Camino Diablo.
The motorcyclist was flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. No condition was immediately available Thursday evening.
The motorcycle and a barbed-wire fence suffered moderate damage, firefighters said.
