Glenwood, IA : Three people injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Mills County on Tuesday, May 17, 2016

A pair of southwest Iowa residents were injured in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday in Mills County.

James Collins, 68, of Red Oak, and Bobbi Dragon, 25, of Hastings, were both eastbound on U.S. Highway 34 when a third vehicle, in front of them, hit a deer and continued to drive, according to the Mills County Sheriff’s Office.

Collins, in a 2012 Toyota Corolla, attempted to avoid the third vehicle and pulled in front of Dragon, who was driving a 2006 Dodge Caravan. Collins hit the brakes on his Corolla and was stuck from behind by the Caravan.

The wreck occurred near Deacon Road, west of Glenwood, and disabled both vehicles.

Rescue personnel transported Collins, his passenger Diane Collins, 63, and Dragon to Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Their statuses were not immediately available Wednesday.
