DuBOIS, PA : Police investigate vehicle-pedestrian accident on Tuesday, March 27th 2017
Sandy Township police on Tuesday released details regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian accident that occurred at the intersection of Blinker Parkway and Behringer Highway Monday afternoon.
Police report that at approximately 3 p.m., a 54-year-old Reynoldsville man was walking along Route 119 (Blinker Parkway) near the Bobette Motel when a pick-up truck pulling a trailer turned left from Route 322 (Behringer Highway) onto Route 119.
A witness recounted to police that it appeared the load in the trailer shifted and something hit the 54-year-old man in the back of the head, causing him to collapse on the road.
According to a previously-published Courier-Express article, eyewitness Joseph Fike of Sykesville said the man had blood on the back of his head. He recalled that the man tried to roll over, but he stopped him in an attempt to keep him immobile, because of his injury.
Fike asked the man if he was OK, and received no response. The man wondered where he was at, and Fike told him that he was at the Bobette Restaurant, but he was again unresponsive.
Fike said he went into the restaurant to get towels for the man.
